Mark Wahlberg, Justin Bieber in Talks to Co-Star in Movie for Paramount

The “Fighter” star pitched an idea to studio executives, who are talking it through in more detail with Bieber’s camp, a source says.

Mark Wahlberg and Justin Bieber as co-stars? It could happen.

Wahlberg on Tuesday told New York Magazine’s Vulture that he is talking to the teen singing sensation about doing a movie together.

“We’re putting it together. … We’re doing it at Paramount. We pitched them the idea and, you know, we’re talking about doing it,” Wahlberg said. “He loves the idea. He’s been sending me video, he sent me a video of himself, and, yeah, I think he’s really talented.”

A Paramount source said Wahlberg pitched an idea that studio execs liked, and they are talking it through in more detail with the studio and Bieber’s camp.

Pressed for details about the project, Wahlberg said it will be more of a drama than a comedy but hesitated to be much more specific.

“They may announce it fairly soon … kind of like a reluctant mentor in an inner-city environment. You know, I don’t want to say,” he said,

Wahlberg, who got his start in showbiz as rapper Marky Mark, added that neither he nor Bieber would sing or dance in the project.

Wahlberg most recently was onscreen in The Fighter, for which he earned an Oscar nomination as one of its producers. Bieber made his big-screen debut this year in the 3D biopic-concert hybrid Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.
